Head of CDM Services
CDM England Ltd – Liverpool

CDM England Ltd are one of the foremost providers of CDM, safety, asbestos and training services to the property, construction and civil engineering sectors. We are looking for a high calibre individual to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the business meets statutory requirements to achieve compliance with Principal designer duties where CDM England Ltd appointed as Principal Designer;
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all CDM related services including Principal Designer activities across the business;
  • Work with the Managing Director and CDM Business Development Manager to establish and develop the CDM and Principal Designer service, including brand development;
  • marketing and service provision and develop a long term vision for the function and deliver CDM Advisor and Principal designer services across the UK;
  • Ensure business skills, knowledge and experience are commensurate with the Principal designer and related services CDM England Ltd offer;
  • Promote technical excellence with delivery of Principal designer services;
  • When required take responsibility for Principal Designer during the pre-qualification and pre-construction stages.

Professional Profile:

  • In depth knowledge of CDM 2015 regulatory requirements;
  • Develop, review and deliver presentations at senior level to client organisations where required;
  • Self-motivated, energetic, recognised motivator and leader of others;
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral;
  • Experienced across most sectors / building types;
  • Expert at analysing Health and Safety risk and within the design process;
  • Understand BIM to level 2 and PAS 1192-2;
  • Have good law of contract skills (in particular with regard to Health and Safety legislation and CDM 2015);
  • Have expertise in the formulation of design work flows with regard to Health and safety risk evaluation and assessment;
  • Knowledgeable of key building interdependencies;
  • Have good working knowledge the design process for all disciplines;
  • Have good working knowledge the procurement process;
  • Have good knowledge of the construction and project close out process.

Candidates wishing to apply should have:

  • A design or construction related degree level qualification;
  • Minimum of NEBOSH Construction Certificate (preferred but not necessary);
  • Chartered member of a relevant body (ICE, RIBA, CIOB, IOSH etc);
  • Member of the Association of Project Safety (I or C MaPS) preferred.

Training and Safety Consultant
CDM England Ltd – Liverpool

CDM England Ltd are a newly established CDM, safety, asbestos and training consultancy providing a wide range of services to the property, building and construction, and civil engineering sectors. We are looking for a high caliber individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and its practical implementation.
The successful candidate’s duties will involve (but are not limited to):

  • Providing CDM and general H&S services to a range of clients.
  • Discussing H&S practically and providing guidance where necessary, working collaboratively with clients to ensure a positive outcome.
  • Travelling to a range of client sites to provide H&S advice and services.
  • Interfacing with clients and regulatory third parties.
  • Providing toolbox talks and training as appropriate.
  • Preparing site specific risk assessments when required.
  • Coordinating accident & incident management follow-up process.
  • Delivering CITB and IOSH training courses.

Candidate requirements:

  • CSCS Card;
  • Minimum of NEBOSH Construction Certificate;
  • Higher education i.e. Bachelors degree preferred (or equivalent qualification);
  • Relevant SHE experience within construction / civil engineering / utilities environments;
  • Experience of working on overhead lines and substations would be an advantage but not essential;
  • Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) preferred;
  • A proactive working approach, a willingness to learn and develop, and strong people-facing skills;
  • Relevant teaching qualification e.g. Award In Education and Training, PTLLS or equivalent;
  • L&D9DI or L&D11 Qualifications would be an advantage but not essential;

CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer
CDM England Ltd – Liverpool

CDM England Ltd are a newly established, client focused consultancy providing CDM, safety, asbestos and training services to the property, building and construction, and civil engineering sectors. We are looking for a high caliber individual to join our team.
A permanent position has become available at our head office in Liverpool for a CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious person with drive and enthusiasm to undertake the Principal Designer role as required by the CDM Regulations 2015.

You will:

  • Provide support and advice to multi-disciplinary design teams and clients during the design and pre-construction stages of a wide range of projects to ensure their compliance with their statutory duties under CDM 2015;
  • Be involved in defining the standards of the Principal Designer processes and procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 for projects from inception to completion;
  • Undertake CDM reviews, Audits and give CDM advice;
  • Review contract terms and conditions, scopes of service and responsibility matrices for projects;
  • Collaborate with the Directors to co-ordinate health, safety and CDM knowledge;
  • You will prepare, or assist in the preparation of the pre-Construction Information for issue to the project team and make comments on receipt of the Contractor’s Health and Safety Plan;
  • Any other tasks as required by the business.

Requirements:

The candidate will ideally be educated to degree level with a background in Architecture, Construction or Engineering. Those with equivalent experience will also be considered. You should have good knowledge of design and construction gained from broad experience across a range of industry sectors. CDM England Ltd are looking for someone with experience and an understanding of the practical implementation of the CDM Regulations in addition to Health and Safety.
You will have strong people skills to enable you to work effectively with colleagues/suppliers and build strong relationships. You will be IT literate, highly organised and a great team player.
The applicant should be able to demonstrate practical competence, flexibility, commitment and problem solving capabilities. Membership of a Professional Institution (e.g. ICE, IStructE, RIBA, CIOB). IMaPS Membership of the Association for Project Safety and a NEBOSH Construction Certificate qualification are desirable, but not essential as additional training will be given.
